Rainham Councillors visit new leisure centre facility.
The very popular Rainham councillors Sue Ospreay and Jackie McArdle yesterday (Tuesday 31 January) visited the new development taking shape in their ward.
The two ladies donned their hard hats and went on a walkabout to see the progress of the new Rainham leisure centre.
The centre will see a 25 metre swimming pool, 75 station gym, yoga and dance studio, spin studio, a reception cafe and a community seating area.
Councillor Sue Ospreay told the Havering Daily: “We are in the swim of things here and are keeping a breast (stroke) on this brand new facility coming to Rainham.
“We are fed up begging and front (crawling) to stop being over looked. This is the first pool of its kind in the world and it gives me butterflies!
“Absolutely thrilled to bits that something good is happening in Rainham.
“As well as a wonderful swimming pool, this building hosts spin studios and a gym. With obesity on the rise in children at an alarming rate, this place will be a God send and hopefully has come in time to keep local Rainham people fit and healthy.
“For once I don’t mind chucking myself in the deep end willingly and I have challenged Havering’s Leader of the Council, Councillor Ray Morgon to a race! The game is on!”
Well done to Councillor Ospreay for her endless enthusiasm and for providing us with the best quotes ever!
