Autism Acceptance Week is set for the end of March and once again, local Autism charity Sycamore Trust UK have a series of events designed to promote acceptance of Autism and raise Autism awareness.  They are also hoping to raise a few quid at the same time!

Just as they did last year, Sycamore’s SWAP team;  Ann Marie Lyons-Mummery and Cheryl Kearney will be tackling a sponsored walk accompanied by parents whose children have taken part in the Speak with a Picture project which is aimed at pre-school infants, aged 2-4.  Anyone who would like to get involved on Wednesday 29th March can join in, walking (and talking) from Romford to Dagenham and back again. The ten-mile walk starts at 10.00am is expected to be back in Romford at around 2pm.

It’s all part of Sycamore’s efforts for Autism Acceptance Week, which starts on Monday 27th March, building up to Dare to be Different day on Friday 31st March. The charity, based in the Autism Hub in the Liberty Centre, is hoping for as many people as possible to join in, catching up with old friends and making some new ones along the way.

These are tough times, so any donation, however big or small, is very welcome.  For more information, go to; https://www.sycamoretrust.org.uk/latest/article/Walk-for-Sycamore%21   but if you’d like to sponsor the team a for a few pounds instead of walking, please go to https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/daretobedifferent2023
