Julia Lopez MP hosting Apprenticeship and Skills Fair.

To mark National Apprenticeships Week, Julia Lopez MP will be hosting an Apprenticeships and Skills Fair in partnership with the Romford Jobcentre Plus at Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch, on Friday 10 February from 10am-1pm.

Confirmed employers include AstraZeneca, BHRUT NHS Trust, MTR Elizabeth Line, Metropolitan Police, V and A Museums and Stansted Academy. More employers and training providers have been invited by the Romford JCP and Julia’s website will be updated with details. 

There is no fee to attend and the Hornchurch and Upminster MP is encouraging residents to share details of the fair with any friends or family who are seeking an apprenticeship or employment.

Mrs Lopez told the Havering Daily:‘Following on from the success of my August 2022 Jobs and Skills Fair, where over 60 residents secured a job or training, I would love those looking to explore apprenticeships, find a new role, switch careers or help someone they know who wants new work to join us at this event. Trained job coaches will be on hand to offer advice and information, while local employers with apprenticeships will be looking to meet residents who want to secure a position or explore vacancies. Apprenticeships are not just for young people leaving school but people of all ages, including mums returning to work after a period looking after kids or those wanting to train alongside an existing job.”
