Hero firefighter Tony delivers Christmas joy to the vulnerable across Havering and east London.
Elm Park resident and Ilford firefighter Tony Gladman and his family spent the Christmas festivities delivering hundred of gifts to hospitals, care homes, women’s shelters, children’s homes and Tapestry. Tony and his team of helpers have been delivering gifts since Tony’s grandfather sadly passed away at a care home several years ago.
Tony really is Father Christmas! He is an amazing community champion who not only visits care homes and hospitals on a regular basis, but also spends a lot of his time raising money for charity. He and his family members had the opportunity to deliver more gifts than ever this year, putting a smile on many people’s faces.
He told the Havering Daily: “Many thanks to my family who help me do a lot of the running around and also to my team White Watch at Ilford fire station who helped me wrap all the gifts and deliver them to homes on the station ground.”
One of the drops Tony and his team of firefighters attended was Fountain Care Home where Tony’s grandad was. It was here that Havering resident Kelly’s grandfather is based and Kelly took to social media to discover who these amazing firefighters were.
At the Havering Daily we were able to find her hero firefighters, Kelly told the Havering Daily:”Thank you to these firefighters, this is such a fantastic thing to do.”
Well done to Tony, his family and Ilford White Watch for their amazing work, you are all incredible community heroes!
