The Mayor of Havering visits new state-of-the-art distribution centre in Rainham

Wanis International Foods, the UK’s largest world foods distributor welcomed the Mayor of Havering, Cllr Trevor McKeever to their new state-of-the-art distribution centre in Rainham on Monday 12th December.

Cllr McKeever was keen to visit the newly opened centre that spans over 100,000 square feet in the heart of Rainham to express his thanks to the team at Wanis after hearing about some of the community and charity projects they have been involved in.

Earlier in the month members of the Wanis staff volunteered at the Mardyke Community Centre where the communities elderly residents were served a slap-up Christmas dinner and entertained with a children’s choir and a raffle.

In addition to staff giving up their time at the event which was also attended by Cllr McKeever; Wanis also donated food and drink to contribute to the event.

Cllr McKeever was given a tour of the distribution centre that sends famous world food brands like Tropical Sun across the UK by the team at Wanis. He even tried his hand at driving a Pallet Truck, perhaps the HR manager at Wanis will give him a call!
