After last week’s successful event where volunteers from the community planted over 1000 new trees, Trees for Havering is back this weekend to continue where they left off.

Trees for Havering are looking for volunteers to help plant new trees at the Hornchurch Country Park Covid Memorial this Saturday between 9 am and midday. Previous events have seen families, couples, community/church groups, as well as local councillors come together with the single goal of planting new trees in Havering.

Event organiser Ross Elliott told the Havering Daily “There is the capacity for at least 3000 new trees to be planted, so we need all the help we can get. Tree planting is a great way of giving back to the community and is great for your well-being. We hope as many people join us as possible.”

Please take your own spade if you have one (there are some available) and ensure you wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather too.

Location: Hornchurch Country Park Car Park, Rainham RM13 7YH
