Driver fails to stop for police on the A13 and kills female passenger in horror smash.

A driver who failed to stop for Essex police in the early hours of this morning, has crashed into a vehicle on the A13 sadly killing the female passenger.

A police pursuit took place at 2.30 am on the A13 until it crashed into the vehicle near Rainham this morning.

Road closures are in place between Goresbrook and Lodge Avenue flyover.

Chief Superintendent Stuart Hooper from Essex police said: Despite the best efforts of officers and medics at the scene, a female passenger has died.

Traffic is believed to be extremely heavy either side this morning.
