Anti knife crime campaigning mum donates bleed kit to Hornchurch nightclub.
On Friday November 18, Sue Hedges and April Hayden from the Ricky Hayden Memorial donated a bleed kit to Shelly’s Night Club and Bar on Station Lane, Hornchurch.
Sue and April spend each week donating vital life saving bleed bags to as many businesses across the community as they can. The bleeds kits are from the Daniel Baird Foundation and all approved by the London Ambulance Service. They contain chest seals and a tourniquet that can be used for knife and gun wounds, road traffic collisions and other catastrophic bleeding.
Sue and April lost their son/brother Ricky Hayden in 2016 to knife crime and now in his memory do everything they can to stop other families suffering the pain they go through daily since Ricky’s death.
Shelly was very honoured to receive the kit and will place it behind the bar for easy access.
Bereaved mum Sue told the Havering Daily: “Thank you to Shelly for accepting the bleed bag, to Francis Foucher, Danny Felix and all the other DJ’s on the night who have supported us. Thank you for raising £100 for the Ricky Hayden Memorial.
“We will keep doing everything we can to battle the horrors of knife crime on our streets and by working together, we can make a difference.”
