The Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas will not be running in the next General Election and Labour have chosen their new candidate to run for the seat. Councillor Margaret Mullane, Village ward councillor in Dagenham has been chosen to run in Mr Cruddas’ seat.

Councillor Mullane, told the Havering Daily:

“Being selected as the parliamentary candidate for Dagenham and Rainham, following in the footsteps of Jon Cruddas MP, is the honour of my life.

“The next election won’t be easy, but I will put the community at the heart of my campaign to build the Dagenham & Rainham of the future.”
