Police pursuit ends in driver arrested for car theft in Rainham.
A police pursuit last night in Rainham has ended with a crash and the car driver firstly being taken to hospital and then being arrested on suspicion of car theft.
The vehicle had failed to stop for police and a pursuit began that ended with the Ford Fiesta crashing on Rainham Road.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“Police on patrol at 21:08hrs on Tuesday, 8 November engaged in the authorised pursuit of a car that failed to stop in Rainham.
The car, a Ford Fiesta, crashed at Rainham Road.
The driver, a male, no further details, was taken to hospital as a precaution before being arrested on suspicion of car theft. He was taken to an east London police station where he remains at this time.
The arrested male was not injured. Enquiries continue.”
