Councillor Stephanie Nunn and Barry Mugglestone yesterday, Tuesday November 1 held an afternoon tea at Havering Asian Social and Welfare Association in Elm Park to raise money for the Mayor’s Charities.

Havering’s Mayor Councillor Trevor McKeever joined in the afternoon’s fun, getting involved in the raffle and other events on the day.

Councillor Nunn raised an incredible £336 through raffles, bring and buys and the selling of homemade cakes and samosas.

Well done to HASWA for their great community participation as always.

Councillor Nunn told the Havering Daily:

“I was so pleased to welcome the Mayor to HASWA for afternoon tea. After the Mayor picked the raffle I was even more pleased to announce that we had raised £336 for his charity.

“Thank you to HASWA, the afternoon tea group and all those who helped on the day and gave raffle prizes or items for the Bring and Buy. What a great afternoon and fantastic way to raise money for the Mayor’s charities.”

I too would like to thank Rose who helped me Cllr Julie Wilkes by selling items donated by the wonderful people to raise monies for the Mayor’s 2 charities plus Pauline who helped raise money by going round to the group with a game at a £1 each. Well done and thanks to everyone for attending this excellent event.
