‘Britain deserves better and if trust is to be restored, a General Election should be called’-Jon Cruddas MP.

The Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas is adding his voice to the calls for a General Election following the third Tory Prime Minister in matter of months. Today he tells the Havering Daily:

“So we have the third Tory Prime Minister in around three months, the last two having arrived at 10 Downing Street without any mandate from the British electorate. This disregard by the Tories for the public ill serves democracy at a time when we are facing a cost of living crisis with their party having crashed the economy.

Britain deserves better and if trust is to be restored Rishi Sunak, the latest in a line of Tory unelected Prime Ministers, should call a General Election to make sure the government of the country has a proper mandate to act.”
