Man causing a disturbance believed to be armed with a knife in Dagenham.

A man believed to be armed with a knife has caused damage to a house on Whalebone Lane South in the early hours of this morning.

Locals reported hearing the disturbance just before 1am, with the male then running off down an alleyway nearby.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at approximately 00:40hrs on Tuesday, 6 September to reports of a disturbance outside a residential address in Whalebone Lane South, Dagenham.

“There were reports that a man had caused damage to a property and may have been in possession of a knife.

“Officers attended but the man had left the scene prior to police arrival. Enquiries are ongoing to locate him.

“The occupant of the property was spoken to; they were not injured.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
