‘Liz Truss must urgently get a grip on inflation, energy costs and our borders’-Councillor David Taylor.
St Edwards ward Conservative Councillor David Taylor today shares his views on the new Prime Minister with Havering Daily readers.
“I don’t envy Liz Truss. Truss has just inherited one of the most difficult set of circumstances of any modern day Prime Minister. She must urgently get a grip on inflation, energy costs, and our borders.
When Truss visited Romford, she told us that she will review the top-down housing targets forced on Havering. We must hold her to account on that, ensuring that we get to set our own housing strategy, with locals at the heart of it.
I’m also pleased that, in my lifetime, the Conservatives have had as many female Prime Minsters as male. Truss’ cabinet is also set to be one of the most diverse in history. This shows that Conservatives are the party of opportunity.
Our party is one of the oldest and most successful in the world. It’s time for Conservatives to get our heads down, stop bickering, and to do what we do best. Serving the public.”
