‘I genuinely fear for the lives and well being of vulnerable individuals and families, the outlook for the majority under Truss is dire.’
Activist and campaigner Ruth Kettle-Kettel Frisby today shares her views on the appointment of Liz Truss as Prime Minster.
As someone who has worked tirelessly as an A Level teacher and external examiner in Havering, I’m invested in young people’s futures and workers rights.
I work harder than ever as a proud carer and mother of young girls, and the creeping authoritarianism, dishonesty and lack of integrity in the Tory party in the past 12 years has become too much for the vast majority of us to bear.
I attended the first ‘Enough is Enough’ rally because it’s clear to me that the Tories’ economic paradigm that frankly exploits workers is disingenuous and deeply flawed.
They know what they’re doing, who they’re serving and ultimately who their policies benefit, and let’s face it, it isn’t us!
I genuinely fear for the lives and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and families under Truss. In my opinion her whole party dedicates itself to a fundamentally damaging ideology, but speaking practically, she has made it clear enough to many of us that she will lead the government in further failings pertaining to climate justice, workers rights, human rights, equity in society, and distribution of wealth.
I believe that the outlook for British life for the vast majority of us under Truss is dire, however I’m heartened that an appetite in Britain for genuine change is gaining momentum; during an overlapping health and wellbeing crisis that impacts the poorest and most marginalised first, we’ve never needed it more.
