Elm Park councillors clear rubbish away from Harrow Lodge Park.
The three Elm Park ward councillors donned their gloves and litter pickers and cleared rubbish away from Harrow Lodge Park last week.
During a live facebook feed with the Havering Daily, councillor Barry Mugglestone had told viewers that if the rubbish had not been cleared, he would return to clear it and he kept to his word.
Councillor Stephanie Nunn, Julie Wilkes and Barry Mugglestone attended the park on Friday 26 September to clear away rubbish and bottles that had been left where the bottle bank was that has sadly be burned down.
Councillor Mugglestone told the Havering Daily:”As promised I went back to Harrow Lodge Park with Councillors Nunn and Wilkes from my Elm Park ward and went and checked on the black swan, met rangers on the site to check the oxygen levels in the lake and then requested a meeting with the cabinet member for parks so when can get a true reflection of where we are with the lake and dredging.
“We also cleared the bottles from the fire damaged area as I said I would.”
The state of Harrow Lodge Park has been much spoken about of late and has upset many local residents seeing their park in such a poor condition. Councillor Mugglestone is very proactive and has been dealing with as many queries as he can whilst cabinet member for parks councillor Paul Middleton is away.
