Members of Stagecoach bus garage in Rainham raise £1K for Wennington fire victims.

Staff at the Rainham Stagecoach bus garage on Ferry Lane raised an incredible £500 that was then matched by bus company Stagecoach to make £1,000 to donate to the Wennington fire victims.

Unite staff Peter Wheelband and Stephen Porter rallied round to support locals who lost their homes to the wildfire that destroyed 14 properties earlier this summer.

Havering Mayor Councillor Trevor McKeever visited the bus garage on Friday August 26 to receive the cheques that will help so many residents who lost everything.

As neighbours near the area of devastation, local bus staff were keen to do what they could to help those in need.
