Party time! Join Romford BID for a weekend long celebration in the heart of our town centre.

We all know our town loves to party, so why not join the Romford BID for a weekend long celebration right in the heart of the town centre!

Friday 9th September to Sunday 11th September will see a three-day event that will be a celebration of all things “street” – street food, entertainment, art, and music. During which time we will also take the time to mark the 775th anniversary of Romford Market itself.

Prepare to sing, to laugh and to be amazed by a weekend long programme of musical acts, theatre groups and performance acts appearing on our very own Main Stage; located outside Tollgate House. In addition to this, there will be two platform stages in Brewery Walk and South Street where street entertainers and local musicians will also be performing throughout. 

There will be rides in the South Street, and games areas set up in all the shopping centres: The Brewery, The Liberty, The Mercury, and Romford Shopping Hall. 

Then, on Saturday 10th the day will be heralded by the sounds of the bells of St Edward’s Church being rung out at 10am by the East London Bell Ringers. This continues a tradition which began in 1755 with the establishment of the St Edward’s Ringing Society. 

Visitors are to be welcomed into St Edward’s Church where an exhibition charting the 775-year history of Romford Market will be on display for all to see. 

We are delighted that the Mayor of Havering and other local dignitaries will then be joining us on stage at 1.45pm to officially commemorate the event and the anniversary of the market with the formal unveiling of a memorial plaque. 

This magnificent event will conclude on Sunday 11th with a celebration of all those individuals and groups who bring life and community to the town parading through the Market Place. 

We will also be paying our respect on the anniversary of 9/11.
