Home buyers get a chance to look around their new homes at a ‘pre plaster’ event at St George’s Park Hornchurch.
New homeowners at Bellway London’s St George’s Park development in Hornchurch have had an exciting opportunity to get a good look around their new homes while the build is still in progress.
The homebuyers attended a ‘pre-plaster’ event on Saturday (9 July), where they were shown around their homes ahead of the final stages of construction.
St George’s Park is a landmark scheme creating hundreds of homes on the former St George’s Hospital site in Hornchurch. Construction work has progressed well here, meaning it is now in its final stages and the last influx of residents are getting closer to their move in date.
“There was quite a buzz at our pre-plaster event,” said Sales Director for Bellway London Emma Hamlett.
“It’s always exciting for people to step inside their new home for the first time and see how work is progressing before it is finally complete. It’s the moment people can really start to imagine living in the property they’ve been dreaming and thinking about.
“The event allowed customers to be shown around their homes by the development’s site and project managers and to get a feel for the space. It was a great opportunity for people to ask questions about the progress of the build and the development as a whole.
“And of course, there were plenty of opportunities to take pictures of this unique stage of construction. Giving buyers access to see their home come to life, allows for a new level of excitement.”
Not only did the buyers learn about the physical aspects of their new home but they had the opportunity to hear about the history of the land they will soon be living on.
St George’s Park has a rich history as not only is it where the hospital once stood and served the community but was also previously used as an airfield in the Second World War.
Suttons House, a Grade II-listed building on the site, was donated by Bellway to Hornchurch Aerodrome Historical Trust so it could be converted into a museum celebrating the area’s aviation past. The RAF Hornchurch Heritage Centre opened last year.
Emma added: “At Bellway London we are proud of the role we are playing in developing this historic site so that it continues to serve its community, by providing these contemporary and much-needed homes.”
There’s currently a range of one and two-bedroom apartments available to reserve at St George’s Park, with prices starting from £285,000.
