A firefighter from Hornchurch is running the London Marathon in a bid to raise as much money as he can for a 15 year old girl suffering from a brain tumour.

Tony Gladman is no stranger to charity work. You may remember Tony and his family spend their Christmas holidays handing out gifts to the elderly residents of Havering each year.

Now, Tony is running the London Marathon in a bid to raise £2,000 for First Step a Hornchurch based charity and for Bethany Williams.

Bethany was diagnosed with a brain tumour in May this year. She has undergone surgery and is currently being treated with a special form of radio therapy.

Tony is looking to raise as much money as he can to support Bethany and her treatment and local charity First Step.

Tony is a real community hero with heart made out of gold that is always out there helping his community.
