Councillors and shop keepers have united to fight against a planning application that would see their shops on Victoria Road knocked down for the building of another block of flats.

Twins and Wet Pets have been at the Romford location for over thirty years and are both specialist shops that are extremely popular not just across Havering, but east London.

The planning application submitted to Havering council on June 15 this year, would see another fifteen flats go up in place of these well established shops that are important to the area.

Owners of Twins and Wet Pets have united alongside St Albans ward Councillor Judith Holt in a bid to fight this application and keep their shops at the same location.

Many residents across the borough are angry at the large number of flats being built across Havering and are watching pubs and shops closed down and demolished in order to build more and more blocks of flats.
