Fire crews tackle Hornchurch grass fire.

Firefighters tackled a grass fire on Suttons Lane in Hornchurch on Saturday (July 9) evening.

Around two hectares of grass was destroyed by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 17 calls to the fire.

The Brigade was called at 17:54 and the fire was under control by 19:52. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Hornchurch, Wennington, Harold Hill and Romford fire stations were at the scene.
