On Saturday July 9 Muslims celebrated Eid-Al Adha. Local worshippers crammed across different community centres as they have no place of worship in the borough and are now asking councillors to help allocate them a building they can use as a mosque due to a growing population in the area.

Over 600 worshippers gathered at the Collier Row Community Centre on Clockhouse Lane for early morning prayers. Dr Khalid Saleem who is a well respected member of the community and runs a regular food bank in the area told the Havering Daily: “We are a growing population here in Havering. We need a place to worship like everyone else.”
