Bereaved mum and anti knife crime crusader Sue Hedges and her daughter April donated a bleed kit yesterday Wednesday June 1, to Dagenham Trades Hall in a bid to help fight knife crime across the capital.

Sue donated the kit from the Ricky Hayden Foundation as part of her battle to stop others from losing their life as her son did in 2016.

Sue told the Havering Daily:”These kits are vital life saving tools and if we can save a life, that’s what matters. I don’t want any other family to go through the nightmare myself and my family have been through since we lost Ricky. Our lives are now broken, we will never be the same and the pain we experience never goes away and just gets worse everyday. I have to face the fact that I will never see my son walk through the door again.

“Thank you to Lynne Baird from the Daniel Baird Foundation for providing these important kits.”

Sue and her daughter April endure a sadness that is unmentionable. Yet despite their pain, the pair fight every day to stop the horrors of knife crime and others from losing their life. They are two remarkably courageous women who are real community heroes.
