Harold Wood house used as drugs farm-men arrested and sentenced to 21 months in prison.

Following an intelligence led operation, officers from the East Area Drugs Focus desk located a property on Chruch Road in Harold Wood that was being used as a drugs farm. A section 23 Misuse of Drugs warrant was subsequently issued and on entry into the barn, Police identified 567 plants, with a street value £280,000 with hydroponics and other growing equipment. Entry was forced into the main residence and two males were located inside the house. This house was also a large scale cannabis grow, with all equipment and drying rooms. The entire house was a cannabis factory, every room being covered with plants to an approximate of 500 plants.

Long Van Nguyen aged 28 years of Escapade Place, London, Tower Hamlets E14 0EN and another male were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis. One was found in possession of £1050 cash and an Apple IPhone both of which are seized. 

On the 11th May 2022 Long Van Nguyen, was sentenced to 21 months imprisonment Order under Section 27 Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 for forfeiture / destruction / disposal of forfeiture and destruction of drugs and all paraphernalia, and forfeiture of £1050 cash To Pay a Victim Surcharge of £156.00.  He is being deported back to Vietnam after his sentence.  

On 24th November 2021, Thanh Ha Pham 15/07/1986, no fixed abode was sentenced to 18 months for production of class B, cannabis and to pay victim surcharge of £156.00.  He has since been deported to Vietnam.  

Long Van Nguyen was claiming he had been forced to work against his will, although no traffic offences were apparent, however the court proceedings were extended.

The drugs farm shut down.
