Angelina Leatherbarrow-Labour candidate for Rush Green and Crowlands.
The Havering Daily is running a list of the different candidates across Havering in preparation for tomorrow’s local elections.
Today we meet Angelina Leatherbarrow, a Labour candidate for Rush Green and Crowlands in Romford.
I have lived in Romford for eighteen years and I am raising my family here. I live in and am standing to be elected in Rush Green and Crowlands which has been seriously neglected by Conservative Councillor’s who don’t rely on local parks or local businesses or walk our streets.
I want to be a representative of the community I live in and an advocate for better value for money for our residents. It can’t be right that we pay higher council tax than our neighbours in Labour run boroughs but get less services for our money.
Having grown up in poverty I know the importance of a local authority looking after its community properly, decent children’s centres, youth clubs, Libraries that are open when people need them, accessible services with real council officers not online forms. I don’t want to see developers building thousands of dormitories instead of much needed family homes and where we do have high density, those developers need to build and fund a legacy for our community. I will be campaigning for a community room and cafe with accessible toilets in Cottons park and a suite of fully accessible play equipment in Jutsums Park.
