The Havering Daily is running a list of the different candidates across Havering in preparation for the local elections on May 5.

Today we meet Patricia Brown, the Labour and Co-operative candidate for Gooshays ward in Harold Hill.

I have lived in Havering for over 30 years. Difficulties being faced in Gooshays now mirror my upbringing on a Dagenham Council estate. I served as an assistant to Harold Hill’s former MP Keith Darvill, dealing with many resident concerns and local issues. I fully understand the challenges many are struggling with here on the Hill today.
Working currently in Council School Admissions has given me insight into local Education Services. My local Government work developed my expertise in the scrutiny of services such as GP’s and Hospitals, Care Homes and the Police.
Residents have recently brought many Housing issues in the area to my attention. Addressing anti-social behaviour, including improving CCTV and street lighting are also key areas I will focus on.

As a Labour and Co-operative candidate, I am active in Gooshays supporting residents, local community groups and projects. With a lifetime’s experience to draw on, I have been engaging efficiently and effectively with Council Services to get results. I aim to continue this as a reliable, honest influence at the Town Hall. I will ensure Gooshay’s residents views are heard and acted on.
