Julia Offord Pearman-South Hornchurch.
The Havering daily is running a list of the different candidates across Havering in preparation for the local elections on May 5.
Today we meet South Hornchurch Labour candidate Julia Offord Pearman.
I attended Scargill and Brittons Schools and have lived in the ward nearly all my life. I had a career in local government for over twenty and now work for the NHS. This work gifted me a deep understanding of how to tackle the problems we face as a community. If elected I would begin to address the inequalities in support and funding the current Conservative/Residents administration have forced on us. Not least the inexcusable inequalities in the funding for flood prevention improvements and road repairs.
In the past I have been a school governor and a volunteer for the Careers service and still take a keen interest in education policy, but above all I am passionate about improving my local area and recently led the successful campaign to restore the Blake Close playground alongside Mirza Akhtar. I am committed to improving South Hornchurch and I will make sure that residents get a strong voice by speaking up for them and our area.
