The Havering Daily is running a list of the different candidates across Havering in preparation for the local elections on May 5.

Today we have Carol Baker, who is an H.R.A Candidate for Mawneys ward.

I have lived in Havering all my life!! All 59 years.  I am a mother of two and have the pleasure of being a grandmother of six.

I am a qualified accountant and worked in a local accountancy practice in Hornchurch until 2014.

I undertake a number of volunteer roles in Havering on a weekly basis, including at the Foodbank and for a Homeless charity.

My volunteering roles have equipped me with a good understanding of the challenges within our communities and has given me the skills, confidence and the ability to make a difference where needed. I find this work both rewarding and a privilege.

Sadly we have all seen and felt the impact on us all, by the current Conservative Administration of Havering.

Total lack of transparency! Unfulfilled promises! Millions of pounds of debt!

Mass overdevelopment with no infrastructure! Failing to listen to resident’s genuine concerns!

I have no alignment with any national Political party.

As a ward councillor, I will work hard for everyone in my ward.

I will conduct a monthly drop-in session at a community-based venue.

I will be contactable via Email, Social Media, Telephone face to face and letter.

Whether your issue is big or small I will address the issue with due diligence, respect and transparency.

I will actively support community-based groups and activities, and actively encourage residents to participate.

At council, I will represent residents by presenting their views and aspirations for active inclusion into policy and decision making for the Borough in which we live and work.

I will venomously contest any mass developments that do not contain adequate infrastructure in-built into the planning process.

I will stand for the most vulnerable in our Borough to ensure no one is overlooked.

I will ensure budgets are spent to attain the best service possible in both provision and quality.

I will ensure our council commits to a policy of Inclusion, Equality, Diversity and Transparency when creating policy and in decision making.

Hi if your friend has children a referral to the local Foodbank can be made via the school if no children in household contact can be made with local foodbank directly
If your friend is on pay as you go utility meters they can contact the utility company direct and they will arrange credit to be applied to the meters directly and paid back to them at an affordable amount

The DWP should be contacted as a matter of urgency via their personal Journal on the universal credit page

I am so sorry your friend finds themselves in this terrible situation the cost of living is having a major impact on lots of people currently and sadly this situation will impact so many
