Well done to East Area police for a fantastic day of action across Rainham yesterday, Wednesday 20 April. The Havering Daily reporter joined officers across Rainham, South Hornchurch and Elm Park for Operation Yamhill 2, a monthly day of action where anti social behaviour hot spots are targeted.

Havering police were joined by Council Officer Jane Eastaff whose team of officers always support our police teams and work hand in hand with different organisations. Our local police were also joined by British Transport Police officers at Elm Park and Rainham Station.

The monthly day of action sees identified areas of anti social behaviour targeted with officers focusing on reducing crime in that area.

Yesterday’s operation was led by Sergeant Louis Shuttleworth and Inspector Zed Askhar who led the team of forty officers. ANPR checks were undertaken on Ferry Lane and the A1306 New Road, with officers checking many vehicles across the morning. Elm Park and Rainham station were targeted in the afternoon where drug dogs were used as passengers left the station.

Officers were on high visibility patrol across these areas making sure anti social behaviour hotspots were patrolled.

The day of action was very successful and will be taking place each month across different parts of the borough. Well done to Sergeant Shuttleworth and Inspector Azkhar for leading this very positive day of action.
