BREAKING: Major Incident declared in east London as casualties treated for noxious fumes.

A major incident has been declared at the Aquatics Centre at the Olypmic Park in Stratford. It is believed a leak earlier has caused toxic fumes, with casualties being treated for breathing problems.

Fire crews across east London are attending the incident. Firefighters are rescuing nearby residents some, believed to be trapped in their houses due to the large quantity of noxious fumes.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Officers were alerted by London Fire Brigade at 09:53hrs on Wednesday, 23 March to a leak of noxious fumes a the Aquatics Centre, Queen Elizabeth Park, E20.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service have also attended the scene. A number of people have been evacuated from the premises.”
