Lower Bedfords Road in Collier Row was closed just after 6 am this morning following a collision between a motorcyclist and a car. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for a head injury and then arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at 06:10hrs on Friday, 18 March to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a car in Lower Bedfords Road, Romford.

“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service. The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for a head injury. His condition is not life-threatening. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

“The driver of the car stopped at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.”
