Over the weekend, the Havering Daily Trees for Havering campaign held two tree planting events, where teams of residents, young and old, came together to plant over 1700 new trees in Havering. The first event was held on Saturday in Rainham, where the team planted over 600 trees to create a 105m hedgerow.

The second event was held at Stubbers Adventure Centre in Upminster, where the Trees for Havering team were able to plant a further 1100 plus trees; creating new woodland that will support wildlife and biodiversity.

Event organiser, Ross Elliott told the Havering Daily.

“I am so pleased with how the Trees for Havering events have gone so far and how the community have come together to support the campaign. The last couple of days have been a lot of work, but the teams enthusiasm to plant trees is amazing. Well done to everyone involved and a huge thank you to the Woodland Trust and The Conservation Volunteers for supplying the trees.”
