Harold Hill-‘Love the Hill’ community project.
LifeLine Projects is pleased to announce the launch of a new capacity building community project in Harold Hill, ‘Love the Hill’. The project is funded by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) through the Violence Reduction Unit and the local authority. The project is about the community suggesting ideas and helping us to make a change in the neighbourhood. There will be several community conversations organised and delivered by the Community Development Workers, Kerry Ann Kitts and Anistasia James.Keep an eye out for them as they tread the streets of Harold Hill asking locals to join them for a coffee at community centres, asking you questions about the area and handing out flyers for new and exciting upcoming events.
The project will help local people to create solutions for the unique needs of the area. We want them to inform us about serious youth violence (SYV) in the area, its causes, effectsand how they respond to it. Love the Hill will help to createan environment where people feel confident to share their understanding of the causes, issues and concerns. We want to make sure different voices (young and old) are heard. We all have a role to play in protecting our young people from harm and violence by strengthening our community connections. This will include trying to increase stronger relationships between local residents and those that work in our community.
Love the Hill would love it, if you could take just a couple of minutes to tell us what you think about Harold Hill. We want to know what you think about the local area and what could be done to make it better!
