A man has died following a road traffic collision on Eastern Avenue, Ilford on Tuesday 23 November.

Just after 8pm, the emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a van and a pedestrian. Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service.

The pedestrian, a 54-year-old man, was taken to hospital, but despite the best efforts of paramedics and medical staff, he died at 4.40am the following day Wednesday, 24 November.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam or doorbell footage of the incident to please contact police by calling 101 and quoting CAD 6542/23.
