VIDEO: Harold Hill’s Elvis surprises his nan with a singagram.

Harold Hill’s very own Elvis decided to surprise his nan who lives in Collier Row with a ‘singagram’. Chris Vegas had not seen his grandmother since March when the first lockdown began and missed her birthday due to illness.

Last Saturday, Chris decided to surprise Joan by serenading her on her balcony with an Elvis song, dressed in his Elvis suit. Locals along Hillrise Road were delighted to see Chris in his Elvis outfit and listen to him perform ‘The Wander of You.’

Chris told the Havering Daily: “It was the first time I had seen her since March so it was emotional for me. I parked round the back of her flats so she wouldn’t see me and walked up singing to her. She stood on her balcony and watched and we both got a bit emotional. She loved it.”

Chris is a retail work for Tesco by day and a great Elvis tribute singer by night. He often raises money for charity and loves to perform as much as he can.

“I would like to thank Ricknroll mascots for helping me and giving the idea to do this singagram. It was a very memorable experience.”

Well done Chris for putting a smile on Joan and the local community’s face.
