Police were called to St Andrew’s Park in Hornchurch yesterday evening following reports of a fight. Witnesses reported seeing between 50-60 teenagers all gather inside the park.

One witness told the Havering Daily: “It was after 5pm and I had just arrived at the park when all these teenagers literally piled into the park. There were over 50 of them and I think they were all from outside of the borough.

“I saw them all congregate in the middle and it looked like there was one on the floor and everyone standing over him but it was difficult to tell as there were so many of them.

“There was lots of screaming and shouting and when the police came they all ran off towards the bus stop.”

A Met police spokesperson told the Havering Daily: “Police were called to High Street, Hornchurch around 16.46hrs on Monday, 12 October.

“Officers had received reports of a group of young people fighting, however, upon arrival, the group had dispersed.”

There were no reports of injuries and no arrests were made.
