Raise a glass-VE Day celebrations.

This Friday (8 May), is a public holiday to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. 

Havering Council is organising a series of online events to mark this historic occasion.

At 3pm on the day there will be a ‘Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW2’. From the safety of your own home stand up and raise a glass of a refreshment of your choice and join in the toast – “To those who gave so much, we thank you.”

We also encourage you to decorate your home with bunting and have a picnic in your garden or living room. See our video for help to make your own celebratory bunting.
