VIDEO: Hornchurch Xmas lights switched on by Dame Nanny Fanny and Morgana.

Hornchurch town centre came to a standstill yesterday evening as the annual Christmas lights switch on took place.

Hundreds of shoppers and spectators gathered round the tree eagerly awaiting the lights to be switched on.

The official countdown was started by the Mayor of Havering Councillor Michael Deon Burton as the crowd joined in counting down.

The lights were turned on by the Mayor, Dame Nanny Fanny and Morgana from the Queen’s Theatre’s production of Robin Hood.
