Harold Hill man’s anger at housing development to be built right next to his back garden.

A man living next door to the disused Pompadours pub in Harold Hill is objecting once again to the possible development of new housing right next to his back garden. Gary has been living at his property on Hilldene Avenue for forty years and has objected to the proposed development three times since a variety of planning applications were submitted starting from 2014.

Gary has been clear in his objections and has already had three applications withdrawn. He told the Havering Daily:”Who would want to be overlooked by a whole bunch of people who would clearly be able to see in my garden and house? I have the sunlight here in my back garden, the new proposed housing will be next to my wall and all along the back, meaning I would have very little light here now.

“I have been objecting to these planning developments since they first began to be submitted. This time round, we were not informed of the new application. The council officers are saying they have sent letters out to nearby areas that will be impacted, but funnily enough no one got these letters. We heard about the new plans once again on social media.

“The new properties would make a big impact to myself and my neighbours. It means that we will have properties going back to back with us and all along our back gardens. We are being crammed in. They are building everywhere.”

Gary has written and objected to the endless new proposals being submitted due to the lack of light his property will have as a consequence and the very close proximity it has to his property. He is also unhappy at the lack of information from council officers.

“I have been in contact with my local MP and my local ward councillors, I have sent them all the information but no one has so far been able to help me.”

The current application for the use of the Pompadours pub on Hilldene Avenue is showing as withdrawn, however demolish plans have been approved.

Gary finished:”I will keep objecting and so will my neighbours, it will mean a big difference in our way of life here and not for the better.”
