Elevation Performance Academy, a dance school that has only been open since 2019, is quickly becoming a beloved part of the Havering community. Although based at Eastbrook School in Dagenham, the academy runs weekly classes at the Mardyke community centre every Thursday, offering an opportunity for local Rainham residents to engage in dance and performance arts.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Elevation Performance Academy has thrived. The school regularly participates in competitions and performs at fetes and fairs, helping students get accustomed to dancing in front of crowds.
The academy offers classes for a wide range of age groups, from three-year-olds to adults. Children interested in dance can try out different classes for free to find the one that suits them best. They are not required to commit to every class, making it easy for families to explore what the academy has to offer without pressure.

For instance, a year after breaking her elbow, one student, Jess, was able to perform an acro routine, showcasing the resilience and support within the academy.
