Police have arrested a motorcyclist after a serious collision left an elderly pedestrian with potentially life-changing injuries in Romford.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service were called to Victoria Road at 18:23 on Monday, 16 February, following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended the scene alongside paramedics, and a woman in her 80s was taken to hospital with injuries described as potentially life-changing.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police say their investigation is ongoing and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses or anyone with relevant details are asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 6108/16FEB.
