Sport Report 14th March to 18th March 2026

By Jasper Searles – Junior Sports Reporter

Hey, it’s Jasper, another Sport Report today. Find out about broken records, and broken Hearts.

Record Breaker!

This week we saw 16-year-old Max Dowman become the youngster ever Premier League scorer – aged 16 years and 73 days!

National League South

Hornchurch dropped points, now the gap between them and Dorking is 8 points! Hornchurch have a game in hand. Henry Sandat scored 2 goals, then also got sent off! Bath City 2-2 Hornchurch.

The league is very close with just 6 points separating 2nd place to 10th place. At least a play-off spot should be guaranteed for the Urchins.

Next up Hornchurch host Hemel Hempstead.

Premier League

Saturday Matches

Yawn! No goals, no fun. Bournemouth dominated possession, but could not get the ball in the back of the Burnley net. Burnley 0-0 Bournemouth.

Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, (who should be playing for Newcastle, classic FFP) scores the only goal of the game. The Gambian showed his Geordie pride after scoring against rivals Sunderland (I mean he made a whopping 0 appearances for the Toon). Sunderland 0-1 Brighton.

At the Emirates, Arsenal leave it late and continue to “Get Lucky” more  than a Pharrell Williams!  The headline is a 16-year-old that transformed the team as soon as called upon. Max Downman has now broken the record for the youngest Premier League goalscorer ever. Arsenal 2-0 Everton.

Chelsea have a strange tactic, when both teams are making a huddle shortly before the game, they make their huddle on the Centre Spot. The week, Paul Tierney (the confused referee) ended up in the middle of the team huddle! But the tactic didn’t work out as Newcastle won 1-0!!!  Anthony Gordon with the winner.

West Ham snatch a draw, as Pep’s absence on the touchline was more than felt by Manchester City. West Ham 1-1 Manchester City.

Sunday Matches

Crystal Palace don’t trouble Leed’s Karl Darlow at all. Like literally not at all. Zero shots on target to trouble the Welsh International. Fair play to Leeds who took 3 shots on target, hahaha. BORING! Crystal Palace 0-0 Leeds United.

At Old Trafford, we had a match that was action-packed. Manchester United Captain, Bruno Fernandes gets two assists to help towards breaking the assists record. Sesko scores off  the bench again for United 3rd. Ross Barkley scores for Aston Villa. Manchester United 3-1 Aston Villa.

Nottingham Forest pick up a point, which helps them stay out of the relegation zone. As for Fulham was this a disappointing result. Nottingham Forest 0-0 Fulham.

At Anfield, another Szoboszlai free kick helped Liverpool get an early goal, but Richarlison’s late winner gave Spurs a draw.  Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur.

Monday Night Football

Brentford’s two early goals weren’t enough for the win. Wolves battle to an away draw. Brentford 2-2 Wolves.

That’s all for this week’s football round-up — see you soon for more results,
