Shocking video footage shared by the Havering Daily has captured the terrifying moment masked thugs armed with a knife stormed a mobile phone shop in Elm Park. The gang can be seen rushing inside, threatening staff and raiding displays before fleeing into the night, leaving the community outraged.
Police were called at 18:48 on Tuesday, 2 December following reports of the knife-point robbery at the store on Elm Park Avenue, involving a group of masked suspects.
Officers responded quickly and attended the scene, but the suspects had already made off before police arrived. No arrests have been made at this stage and thankfully no one was physically harmed during the incident.
Inspector Mark Connolly from Havering Safer Neighbourhoods said:
“We are appealing for information about this group consisting of around eight young males wearing dark clothing who targeted this store in Elm Park. We are increasing both high visibility and plain-clothed patrols in the area. If you want to connect and contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team please sign up to Met Engage www.metengage.co.uk/“
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the robbery or who may have CCTV, ring doorbell or dash-cam footage to get in touch immediately.
