The Romford Film Festival launched on Friday, 24th May, and it promises to be an unforgettable celebration of cinema. The event kicked off in the morning with an impressive turnout, marking its largest start in recent years. Over 150 enthusiastic filmgoers gathered for the first showing, setting the tone for the festival.
The festival will run until the 28th of May 2024, screening movies ranging from first-time filmmakers to some of the most established names on the independent film circuit.
In the evening the launch party was held, attended by local VIPs, film directors, producers, actors, and avid film fans. This year’s festival is truly a community affair, bringing together a diverse crowd united by their love for film.
Adding to the prestige of the event, the newly elected Mayor of Havering made his first official appearance at the festival. His presence underscored the importance of the festival to the local community and highlighted the support for the arts in Romford.
Film Festival Director Spencer Hawken told the Havering Daily, “Seeing the community come together to celebrate the art of filmmaking is truly amazing. This year’s turnout reflects the growing passion for cinema in Romford, and we’re thrilled to showcase such a diverse range of talent.“
