The Battle To Stop ULEZ Continues As Government Decline to Take Any Action Despite Public Anger.

Havering Residents Association today write in the Havering Daily in regards to their battle to stop the implementation of the ultra low emission zone across Havering.

The Havering Residents Association (H.R.A) recently reached out to the Prime Minister to express concerns about the potential negative effects of the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) on the local community.

The response we received was not unexpected, the government has declined to take any action and has in-fact  reinforced the Mayor’s authority to introduce ULEZ.

This development, is both bemusing and questionable as it seems that the concerns of Havering’s residents, businesses, and local council are being ignored by the Mayor. It appears that any legal challenges to the ULEZ may not succeed, and the government has indicated that they will not intervene in the matter.

It is unacceptable that the Mayor’s office has not taken the concerns of the Havering community seriously, and we will continue to advocate for a more responsive and responsible approach to environmental policy in the area.
