Councillor Judith Holt from St Albans ward yesterday attended the Havering Daily ULEZ consultation evening.
In response to the evening’s discussion, Councillor Holt told the Havering Daily;
“It was not surprising to hear that the audience was so overwhelmingly against ULEZ. It is little more than a stealth tax, designed to bleed the London suburbs like Havering to fund inner London. Instigating ULEZ will affect the quality of lives of many, especially older people, who rely on their cars to visit others, those who rely on driving to work, like lorry drivers and small business owners, plus residents who have limited access to public transport. There needs to be a rethink by The Mayor of London.”
