VIDEO: Dr Khalid Saleem, a man dedicated to feeding the community.

Found on the streets of Romford feeding those in need most weeks is Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Khalid Saleem. Dr Saleem has dedicated his life to going round the streets of east London with his friends from Havering’s Islamic Cultural Centre, to feed those who are struggling and desperately need that extra bit of help.

The team run a foodbank outside of the Collier Row Community centre each week and can also be found fortnightly in Romford outside of Marks and Spencer’s donating hot meals and food packages to the community. No questions are asked and no one is turned back, people can walk up and take what they need without feeling embarrassed. The team also walk round the Romford streets donating food to anyone who is a rough sleeper or needs help and support.

This team is amazing and their dedication and kindness to our community is outstanding. They are community heroes.
