VIDEO: Candle lit vigil for Sarah.

A candle lit vigil for Sarah Everard was held outside Barking Town Hall on Saturday evening at 6pm. People gathered wearing masks and stood socially distanced to light candles and pay their respects to 33 year old Sarah who was kidnapped and murdered walking home in Clapham last week.

East London residents came together in a well organised event to show solidarity with women across the country following this tragic murder.

Barking and Dagenham Leader Councillor Darren Rodwell and Deputy Leader Councillor Saima Ashraf attended to pay their respects to Sarah and show their support for women.

The vigil held on the doorsteps of the Town Hall, saw the words ‘We are all Sarah Everard she was walking home’.
