Havering Covid 19 Mutual Aid.

A facebook page called Havering Covid 19 Mutual Aid was launched in March at the start of the first lock down. The page has nearly 10,000 members and was set up to help Havering residents throughout lock down when many were unable to leave their homes and needed help.

People were able to find support of all kinds on the page, either someone to help do shopping for them or even a person to talk to if things got too much for them during these challenging times.

As we are now in our second lock down, the page is very much active in helping residents once again find support and help.

Admin on the Mutual Aid page Peter Wheelband, who has been helping endless people in Havering throughout the two lockdowns, told the Havering Daily: “As we enter the 2nd week of the 2nd Lockdown, many people will be struggling with various issues such as food shopping and delivery , prescription collection , financial worries or coping with the lack of human interaction.

“The Havering COVID-19 Mutual Aid Facebook page was set up to aid anyone in need . We have approximately 9.5K members and since March have helped numerous residents in Havering during the pandemic.

“If you require advice or assistance in any way , please join our Facebook page where we will be only to happy to provide assistance in any way possible , or direct you to other outlets who can help you”.

Please reach out to people on this facebook group, they are there to help and have done an amazing job in the community.
